Preservation Park

Sixteen historic buildings make up Preservation Park. Recently renovated and restored, and set on well-kept lawns and lush shrubbery, the Park also includes Victorian park benches and old-fashioned street lamps. Forty-five businesses and organizations are located within the park's 16 historic buildings. Oakland's Preservation Park hosts a variety of events, ranging from trade shows to luncheons and award ceremonies. Walking and history tours are also available by appointment.

The Paramount Theater

One of Oakland's historic landmarks and attractions, The Paramount Theater was built in 1921 and was restored in 1973. As the main performing arts center of the city, it has hosted famous performers, such as Alicia Keys. The 3,000-seat theater can be toured on the first and third Saturday morning of each month. Tours begin at 10:00 from the box office entrance located on 21st Broadway Street. Movie classics are also played often and the Oakland Ballet performs here with the Oakland Symphony on given dates.
